Aliyah (age 3): Mom can we run to the store?

Me: Why?

Aliyah: Because I really need a present today, so lets go buy me a new present, PLEASE!!!

Me: Hey Nathan, guess what?

Nathan (age 9): What?

Me: I have a baby in my tummy!

Nathan: Really (with a huge smile), but does Dad know?

***Nov. 4, 2009

Me: Hey Jake!

Jake (age 5): What is it Mom?

Me: Can you set the table for me?

Jake: Uhm (while looking outside), did we miss dinner?

Me: No, why?

Jake: Because it's dark outside and we don't eat in the dark (it's only 6pm). Try explaining day light savings to a 5 year old, boy do they look confused.

Me: Why will you be on TV?
Aliyah: Because I am going to be on there to sing!
Me: What will you be singing?
Aliyah: I will sing, "I'm mopping the floor, I'm mopping the floor"!
