Wanna See What I've Been Up Too?

My Stairs

One of my walls in my basement

This is my upstairs half bath. I'm going to be painting the top half another color later today to make the molding on the bottom stand out more!

The pictures make it kinda hard to see, they look much better in person.

And I'm not even close to being done! My livingroom and the master bedroom are next. Oh so fun! I LOVE power tools!!!

Happy Birthday Nathan!

Happy 9th Birthday to the most sweetest son a mom could ever have. Nathan is such an awesome kid. He helps me so much and I just can't get over how much he has grown in the past 9 years. I know most moms say this but it really does seem like I just brought him home from the hospital just the other day. Nathan I love you so much, you are the world to me. I love you and want everything for you. You deserve to have the world at your feet. Happy Birthday Nathan!!!

Here We Go Again!

So back in March Nathan had surgery on his ear to make it bigger. He has one ear that is smaller and so we went ahead and had the surgery to improve the appearance of it, well as it started to heel it had it's own agenda and the top of his ear started to fold in instead of unfold outwards. Well I haven't been very happy with the recovery but I decided to wait the 3 months the doctor recommended to see if any more change would happen to it. We then went into the doctors today and he looked at me and said, "so, how do you two feel about doing another surgery?" Nathan looked at me with the biggest eyes and said, "another surgery". He got very tense for a second and the doctor and I talked to him and told him all that would happen this time and he then felt much better after that. The best part of the whole thing is the doctor told me he wouldn't charge me this time and that he would go ahead and do it free. That made me VERY happy. So come this August Nathan will be going back into surgery, so cross your fingers that it will all take this time!!!

It's Just So Sad

So we started the next level in swimming lessons and Aliyah is having such a hard time with the whole thing because she has a new teacher and she doesn't understand where her other teacher has gone, so she tells everyone that her teacher will be right back, and as soon as we get to the swimming pool every morning she gets this funny look on her face and it's all because her old teacher still isn't there. I think she's feeling a little abandoned right now. Poor thing!

Swimming!!!

Today was our first day of swimming for Nathan, Zach, Jake and Aliyah while Brycelynn and I watched. It's always scary to fork out money for those kids who your not really sure if there going to get into the water willingly or scream there head off and that one kid I'm talking about is Jake, but he did so good. All Aliyah talks about is swimming and how she wants to become a fish.

Jake and Aliyah waiting to be called to their group. Her face tells it all!

Aliyah's Bedroom

Before: Just a little too much pink

After: I found a different quilt so I was able to bring brown into the room

Happy Birthday Aliyah!

Aliyah's 3rd birthday was just a couple of days ago on Saturday, May 23rd. She was so cute on her BIG day. We took her to IHOP for brunch and while we were there she had to go potty, well on the potty she sat and sang Happy Birthday to herself. It was just so funny. We then went to Mike's brothers house over in Tooele and she had a fun time hanging out with her cousins. She was really shy when ALL of us sang happy birthday to her, she went and hid on the couch. For part of her birthday present I did her room, but I feel that I need to do some tweaking to it but I'll put up a few pictures of it anyways! And her other presents she opened up on the way to Tooele (very busy day). Happy Birthday Aliyah, we love you!

(Her Ballerina Bar still in progress, she LOVES to dance in front of)

I Finally Did It!

So I have had this old door that I have dragged from house to house and finally I decided to finally make my headboard out of it. So my dad came one day and we finally made it. It was a lot of fun and Mike is so happy to know it won't be in the garage anymore and that I finally finished a project. Thanks Dad, it was a lot of fun!
Now I painted it but I keep trying to decide if I should antique it or not. I think if I did antique it, it would bring out more of the details on it. What do you all think? Oh and just ignore the fact that my walls need to be painted and that I also need a new comforter!

Ya Just Gotta Love Her!

SOOOOO, if this is what my soon to be 3 year old thinks make-up is suppose to look like then I am really scared for the day that she really is old enough to wear the stuff. I think I keep upping the years for her. What is with her and make-up. She has had a thing with it since she was about 9 months old but this is way over the top this time! Boy I'm scared!!!

My Beautiful Art Work

So Aliyah was so excited to show me that she drew me a picture. The first thing I thought of was to yell at her but luckily it was only sidewalk chalk but then I looked at her so proud of a smile and I hugged her but then both of us cleaned it off and I had to explain once again that coloring was for paper and not for furniture or walls. She was sad when it was all cleaned up but of course being only 2 she moved on to Dora when she heared it on TV. Thanks Dora the Explorer for making my 2 year old happy again!
